What Are Essential Oils
Essential Oils are nature’s gift to good health. Found within plants, flowers and trees, including the roots, this liquid can be felt or smelled even when rubbing your fingers over the leaves or flowers.  When extracted and used in their purest from, essential oils are 100 percent natural, highly concentrated fragrant oils capable of killing germs, calming nerves, and healing a variety of ailments.*
How Are Essential Oils Made
Invivo Essential Oils are 100 percent unadulterated oils gathered from the finest sources throughout the world. Each plant/tree has its own unique distinctive smell and properties.  Only after the distillation of the single type of plant, can the aromatic substance be called "Essential Oil".
The two most commont methods to xtract these oils are:
  • Steam Distillation Leaves are harvested from plants and then boiled to extract the oils. The liquid is steam distilled to produce refined, undiluted, all-natural therapeutic grade essential oils. Steam distilling is the gentlest method of extracting essential oils, thus maximizing the potency of the oil.  This is the most common way essential oils are extracted.
  • Cold Pressing: This process is the most comonly used for extracting citrus oils from the fruit of skin.  The fruits are rotated and the skin of the fruit punctured releasing the juices from the rind.
What are Carrier Oils
Essential Oils are very concentrated and  Carrier Oils, such as Invivo Fractionated Coconut, Jojoba, Aragan) are used to diulte the essential oil and "carry" it to the skin.  They generally use the cold-pressing  method of distillation.  The oils offer their own therapeutic properties; yet prevent the essential oils from evaporating.  Carrier oils  effectively enhance the ability of the essential oil or DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Blend to do its job!
What is Aromatherapy

Safe Usage
For some people, essential oils in their pure forms can irritate the skin. When applying an essential oil for the first time, test one drop to small area for sensitivity. Diluting with an Invivo Carrier Oil may alleviate any skin sensitivity. Discuss with your medical professional before using essential oils if you have a serious medical condition, are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, breeat-feeding, or to check if there may be interactions with any medications you may be taking. Not all oils are safe for children.  Children may react differently to oils so best to use after checking with a qualified medical professional.
Invivo Essential Oils should be stored in a dark, airtight glass bottle (Exception:  Fractionated Coconut Oil), away from sunlight, which oxidizes the oil and reduces their effectiveness. Replace capst tightly after using. Keep essential oils out of the reach of children, they can be poisonous if swallowed.
Some refrigerated oils may solidify, but their integrity and potency will remain. Once removed from the refrigerator allow them to reach room temperature and they will return to their liquid state.  Many carrier oils should also be refrigerated.
Essential Oils can be flammable and should never be stored near ignition sources such as stoves, candles and open flames.
